Alessandro Berio is a technologist, designer, and writer. Alessandro was born to a family of artists in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His maternal grandfather was 20th century composer, Luciano Berio. His great uncle was Brazil’s acclaimed playwright, Nelson Rodrigues. He lived most of his life in Los Angeles where he graduated Magna Cum Laude from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.

In his twenties, he founded Artillery Unit, a design agency that catered to clients such as 20th Century Fox, Disney, and the Grammy’s. He was also co-founder of Brazilian mobile company, M1ND, which developed cutting-edge mobile solutions for clients such as Nike, TIM, Globo, UFC and others.

By the age of 24, he created the world’s first location-based mobile massively-multiplayer RPG, Alien Revolt with investment from Nokia.

Alessandro launched in 2010 the emotion-sharing social network Thinkr for iPhone, which reached 500,000 downloads and was featured by Apple as Best New App in over 40 countries. Celebrity users included the soccer player Neymar Jr. He later launched the groundbreaking lock screen messenger app, Punch, which was featured in Techcrunch. He was the Lead Product Designer for Muvr Labs, inc, and is currently a consultant for projects that include startups that have graduated from the prestigious Y-Combinatior program.

He is currently attaining an M.A. in Cultural Astronomy from the University of Wales Trinity St. David.
