Alessandro Berio is a technologist, designer, and writer. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he lived most of his life in Los Angeles where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.

In his twenties he founded Artillery Unit, a design agency that catered to clients such as 20th Century Fox, Disney, and the Grammy’s. He was also co-founder of Brazilian mobile company, M1ND, which developed cutting-edge mobile solutions for clients such as Nike, TIM, Globo, UFC and others.

By the age of 24, he created the world’s first location-based mobile massively-multiplayer RPG, Alien Revolt with investment from Nokia.

Alessandro launched in 2010 the emotion-sharing social network Thinkr for iPhone, which reached 500,000 downloads and was featured by Apple as Best New App in over 40 countries. Celebrity users included the soccer player Neymar Jr. He later launched the groundbreaking lock screen messenger app, Punch, which was featured in Techcrunch. He is currently the Lead Product Designer for Muvr Labs, inc.

Alessandro also comes from a family of artists. His maternal grandfather was 20th century composer, Luciano Berio. His paternal grandfather was the renowned Brazilian actor Jece Valadão, and his great uncle was Brazil’s most acclaimed playwright, Nelson Rodrigues.

His interests includes archaeoastronomy and linguistics.
